Job Description

Bright Beginnings is looking for a dependable, organized, and motivated Assistant Director to join our leadership team! This position is ideal for someone who loves working with children but is also ready to take on a leadership role. Our Assistant Director works closely with the Executive Director and Director to support our teachers, families, children, and the day-to-day operations of the center. We are looking for someone who is approachable, confident, organized, flexible, and willing to jump in wherever needed. Childcare is busy and every day can look a little different, so being able to problem-solve, communicate well, and work as part of a team is important. What You'll Do Support the Director and Executive Director with daily center operations Help supervise, support, and communicate with teaching staff Assist with staff scheduling and maintaining appropriate staff-to-child ratios Step into classrooms and provide coverage when needed Welcome families and help answer questions or address concerns Assist with enrollment paperwork, child files, attendance, and other required documentation Help ensure classrooms are following center policies and Wisconsin child care licensing requirements Support teachers with classroom management, routines, transitions, and positive guidance Assist with staff training, onboarding, and orientation Help maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming environment Communicate important information between administration, teachers, and families Assist with center events, activities, transportation, and special programs Help problem-solve staffing, classroom, and day-to-day operational needs Be a positive, dependable member of the leadership team What We're Looking For Our ideal candidate: Has experience working in a licensed childcare or early childhood setting Has previous leadership, supervisory, or management experience preferred Understands the importance of Wisconsin child care licensing requirements and staff-to-child ratios Is dependable and has strong attendance Communicates professionally and respectfully with children, families, and coworkers Is organized and able to manage multiple responsibilities Can remain calm and problem-solve in a busy environment Is comfortable giving staff direction and feedback when necessary Is willing to work directly with children and assist in classrooms Is flexible and understands that childcare doesn't always go exactly according to plan Has a positive attitude and works well as part of a team Qualifications Must meet Wisconsin DCF requirements for the position Early childhood education and/or childcare experience preferred Leadership or supervisory experience preferred CPR/AED and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain Must successfully complete required background checks Must complete all required training and continuing education Why Bright Beginnings? Pay:
$40,000.00 - $42,000.00 per year
