SUMMER School Aged Child Care Teacher

We are looking for a qualified teacher to join our team for the Summer. If desired, your position could extend past the summer as well. You must must have love and patience for children. Qualifications needed to teach them effectively include knowledge of best practices and educational methods as well as the ability to engage them and earn their trust and attention. The goal is to contribute to the healthy mental and emotional development of the child so they can more easily acclimate to the next level of education. Responsibilities Develop a careful and creative program suitable for school aged children Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media, etc.) to teach children Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum Organize hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times Track children's progress and report to parents Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children's background and psyche Collaborate with other educators Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards Skills Proven experience as a child care professional Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and educational methods Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms Excellent communication and instructional skills Ability to act as a mediator between children Cool-tempered, friendly, and reliable Balance between a creative mind and a practical acumen Certification in child CPR Valid license or training to practice the profession

Requirements:

Be able to work Full-time. High School Diploma/GED is required. At least an Associate degree is preferred. Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds. Must meet state educational requirements for teachers and additional center/ school requirements may apply. Current First-Aid, CPR, AED, SIDS & SBS Certificates or willing to obtain Current Registry Certificate or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire Support organizational mission, philosophies, values, goals, and policies.

Additional Details:

FTRELC is a fully licensed child care center for children ages 6 weeks to 13 years. We are open Monday - Friday from 7:00am to 5:30pm. Working hours can vary between 6:45am and 6:00pm.
