Responsibilities Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, incorporating literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning. Lead daily classroom activities that promote active engagement, creativity, and exploration among preschoolers. Manage classroom behavior through positive behavior management strategies to ensure a safe and respectful environment. Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum enhancements and share best practices in early childhood instruction. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children's progress, milestones, and any concerns to foster strong home-school connections. Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate records of children's development and attendance. Support children with special needs through individualized instruction and coordination with specialists in early intervention or special education when necessary. Qualifications Proven experience working with young children in a preschool or childcare setting, demonstrating strong classroom management skills. Knowledge of child development principles, early childhood education practices, and curriculum development. Experience with behavior management techniques and creating inclusive learning environments for diverse learners. Certification in first aid and CPR; additional training in childhood welfare or special education is a plus. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners. Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare. Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate literacy education, physical activity, math concepts, and social-emotional learning strategies.
