Monday-Friday Locations:
Buffalo, Barboursville & Huntington, WV Pay:
$12.00-$17.00 per hour Job Summary The Lead Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, fun, and positive classroom environment where children can learn and grow. This position will lead daily classroom activities, follow the center's curriculum, work with classroom staff, and communicate with children and families. Duties Lead daily classroom activities and follow the center's curriculum and schedule. Provide a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children. Supervise and care for children throughout the day. Build positive relationships with children, parents, and coworkers. Work with classroom teachers and provide guidance and support. Greet children and families in a friendly and welcoming manner. Complete required classroom paperwork and documentation. Communicate children's needs, concerns, and progress to the Site Director. Assist with meals, snacks, cleanup, and other classroom responsibilities. Keep the classroom and other assigned areas clean and organized. Follow all Playmates policies, licensing requirements, and safety procedures. Attend staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities. Assist with center operations when needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Experience & Qualifications Experience working with children in a childcare, preschool, or educational setting. Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred. An Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, or a related field is required. CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain. Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills. Ability to work well with children, families, and coworkers. Basic computer skills. Knowledge of childcare licensing, safety, and classroom standards. Passion for working with children and creating a positive learning environment.
