Adjunct FAculty-Psychology-TDCJ

The faculty position is an instructional position directly responsible to the Director Gatesville SAC. The instructor's duties and responsibilities are teaching students and performing a variety of administrative duties.

Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the discipline related to the coursework to be taught.--One year teaching experience preferred- Ability to communicate with students in a clear manner and to author tests and lesson plans. Demonstrated ability to teach subject matter through education, experience, and skills. Commitment to working with diverse and under prepared student populations. Must possess the ability to provide academic and vocational guidance to students as needed. Effective classroom management and student engagement skills. Must be willing to work with incarcerated students. The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited, to the following: Teach courses according to syllabi and textbooks as approved by the department. Advise students and assist them in obtaining their educational goals. Adhere to assigned class time schedule. Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress in compliance with college policies; submit certification rolls require by the Central Texas College Registrar office by submission due date. Advise the Gatesville office of needed supplies, books equipment, and printing within 72 hours of needed time. Maintain and submit certification rosters and final grade books by deadline set by registrar. Provide statistical information to office as requested. Keep supervisor informed of any student needs and problems. Track attendance and post final grades to Blackboard. Prepare and administer examinations that cover all materials taught and provide prompt feedback on exam results. Other duties as assigned Must meet TDCJ security requirements.
