Department of Psychology The Department of Psychology, located in the College for Health, Community and Policy, hosts one of the largest majors on campus (over 2,200 students) and offers degree programs at the BA, MS, and PhD level. Students at each level have opportunities to assist in faculty research. Our 22 tenured and tenure-track faculty and 5 fixed-term, full-time teaching faculty represent many of the traditional subfields of Psychology and bridge between areas. Psychology faculty have a history of collaboration with researchers at the US Army Research Institute as well as various industry and community partners. The department also has strong ties to the affiliated academic medical center, UT Health Science Center at San Antonio, as well as TX Biomed, Veterans Administration, Pearson Testing Company, San Antonio Military Medical Center (including Brooke Army Medical Center), the Institute for Army Surgical Research, and the

Part Time Position Summary The Department of Psychology invites applications for a Part-Time Lecturer to teach Introduction to Psychology at the undergraduate level. This position is designed for qualified educators who are committed to excellence in teaching and student engagement. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction for an undergraduate course in psychology during the fall semester. Responsibilities include course preparation, classroom instruction, assessment of student learning, and timely communication with students. Instruction will be primarily face-to-face and based at the downtown campus; however, candidates should be prepared to engage in limited work on the main campus as needed (e.g., onboarding, meetings, or training). This position will be provided with access to appropriate instructional resources, including classroom technology, course management systems, and departmental support necessary to effectively deliver the course. The lecturer will be expected to adhere to departmental and university policies related to teaching, assessment, and academic integrity. Qualifications
M.S./M.A.
in Psychology or a Ph.D. in Psychology or a closely-related discipline. Previous experience teaching at least one of the following: introductory psychology, social psychology, biopsychology, developmental psychology, abnormal psychology, cognitive psychology, experimental psychology, or statistics. Knowledge and skills in using computer programs and platforms including Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint), statistical software (e.g., SPSS, JASP, R, and MPLUS), and online classroom software (e.g., Zoom, Canvas, Blackboard, Camtasia). Prepared to teach primarily face-to-face at the downtown campus, with flexibility to work on both campuses as needed. This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure. Preferred Qualifications Ph.D. in Psychology. Two years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level. Prior experience teaching in psychology.
