JOB DESCRIPTION ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Teach students in a classroom setting following lesson plans to deliver designated instructional models and strategies in reading, writing, and/or presentation skills. Implement instructional learning activities and games to make the class interactive. Modify provided lesson plans to support and/or reinforce classroom objectives. Perform teacher record keeping functions (correcting papers, form preparations, attendance, phone calls, etc.) for the purpose of providing necessary records/materials and helping students succeed. Promote good study habits for the purpose of improving the quality of student learning outcome and encourage student development. Use positive behavior management skills to develop elementary school students. Assure the classroom space is cleaned and organized at the end of every class. Participate in recommended professional development sessions. Maintain transparent communication with the Academy Director in regards to any issues that arise with students, families, or other employees. Ensure that all academy rules, policies, and guidelines are adhered to. All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

B.A or higher Credentialed teachers preferred. Previous experience working with elementary school aged children. Must be a self-starter and able to perform all job duties with little supervision. Knowledge and competence in teaching elementary school aged children. Background checks must be cleared. Able to build immediate and caring rapport with children of all ages and backgrounds.
