This professional collaborates closely with teachers, administrators, and staff to foster a comprehensive literacy program that meets the diverse needs of students. The Excelsior Charter School Literacy Coach is dedicated to enhancing literacy instruction, promoting best practices, and ensuring that all students achieve literacy proficiency. Responsibilities
Develop and implement effective literacy strategies tailored to the needs of students.
Collaborate with teachers to design and refine literacy-focused lesson plans.
Conduct classroom observations to evaluate and support literacy instruction practices.
Provide professional development sessions for teachers on literacy best practices.
Analyze student assessment data to identify areas of improvement and track progress.
Support the integration of literacy across various subjects and curricula.
Create and maintain resources for literacy instruction, including materials and guides.
Engage with parents and community members to support literacy initiatives outside the classroom.
Stay abreast of the latest research and developments in literacy education.
Lead and participate in literacy-focused committees and meetings.

Bachelor's degree in education, literacy, or a related field (master's degree preferred). Valid teaching certification. Minimum of three years of teaching experience, preferably in literacy instruction. Strong knowledge of literacy, development principles and best practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to analyze and interpret student performance data. Proficiency in creating and delivering professional development sessions. Commitment to continuous improvement and professional growth.
