Category Schools - Reading Specialist Job Type Contract Make a significant impact on early literacy as a Reading Specialist with a focus on library media for students in PreK-2nd grade. Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Education or a related discipline required Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with the proper endorsement(s) Demonstrated experience in curriculum design and reading instruction Excellent verbal and written communication abilities Prior experience supporting K-2 students or with early elementary library/media preferred

Responsibilities:

Provide direct reading intervention and support to students in grades K-2 Manage and facilitate library media resources, integrating them into classroom curriculum Collaborate with teachers to enhance literacy instruction and foster an engaging learning environment Design and implement targeted instructional plans tailored to the diverse needs of young learners Track student progress, assess reading levels, and adjust support strategies as needed Serve as a literacy advocate, promoting reading initiatives and best practices school-wide
