9650083-02301 Job Description Empower student success as a Reading Specialist, providing targeted support for 7th12th graders in a dynamic school environment on a full-time contract basis. This position offers the chance to work closely with a dedicated IEP team and make a meaningful difference in students literacy development from now through June 18, 2027.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Massachusetts teacher certification in Reading and/or Special Education is preferred. Orton-Gillingham training is considered a strong asset. Proven expertise delivering reading instruction in small group and individual settings for students at the secondary level. Experience in conducting assessments, progress monitoring, and IEP development. Strong skills in collaboration, organization, communication, and the use of assistive technology to enhance instruction.
Core Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality reading interventions to 7th12th grade students, both individually and in small groups. Conduct pre- and post-assessments and diligently monitor student progress. Work collaboratively with IEP teams to develop and implement measurable educational goals. Utilize assistive technology to improve access to curriculum and instruction. Maintain organized and timely documentation of sessions, assessments, and student outcomes. Engage with staff and families, providing updates on progress and strategies for continued literacy support.
Role Details:
