Job Description:
General Statement of Duties:
Under supervision of the Assistant Dean of the Learning Commons, the Coordinator of Learning Resources will coordinate learning consultation efforts in Writing, Reading, and ESL. The successful candidate will tutor and teach discipline-applicable learning concepts in 1:1, small group, and class settings; assist with learning program and service development and implementation; develop learning materials/resources; coordinate staff development activities; and perform related work as directed.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate Peer and Professional Consultants in writing, reading, and ESL-adjacent disciplines. Assist with development, implementation, supervision, and reporting of writing, reading, and ESL-adjacent programs/services. Assist the Assistant Dean of the Learning Commons in policy, procedure, budget, and reporting development. Assist with program reviews and staff evaluations. Liaison with appropriate faculty to align program and service offerings with curricular progress. Invite greater faculty engagement and collaboration on program and service events. Recruit Learning Consultants. Provide individual, small group, and one-off workshop or classroom-based consulting/teaching to enhance student learning skills and strategies and disciplinary knowledge. Recommend and facilitate individual academic learning skills and strategies. Connect students with librarians, testing, student services, career, wellness, and other departments and services as needed. Serve as a writing, reading, and ESL resource for Learning Consultants and other professional and paraprofessional staff within the Learning Commons and beyond. Provide or facilitate workshops on student-based learning technology tools as needed. Develop instructional materials rooted in Universal Design for Learning using proven learning methods (VARK strategies, SQ3R, Cornell Notetaking, Bloom's Taxonomy, Kolb Method, etc.) writing, reading, and ESL-adjacent topics. Advertise and present materials to faculty, staff, and students in multiple contexts (classrooms, workshops, consultations, flyers, etc.). Work with appropriate Learning Commons and Learning Success Center staff members to ensure ease of use in multiple contexts. Perform administrative tasks in support of data collection and reporting, learning skills development, and content knowledge as needed. Assist with schedule development and day-to-day management of Learning Success Center as needed. Review Center materials (policies, learning materials, resource offerings, etc.) to assist in maintaining an up-to-date and timely collection. Operate computer programs (eg. WCOnline), productivity software (eg. Microsoft and Google Suites), etc., as needed. Plan and facilitate staff meetings, assist with complex/problem situations, and provide direction in the absence of the Assistant Dean of the Learning Commons. Assists with new staff candidate interviews. Maintain professional knowledge and participate in mutually agreed to professional development activities. Perform other duties, directly related to the duties of this position as defined in this E-7, as assigned. Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in Education, English, Math Liberal Arts, or closely related field; Five (5) years experience and/or training that includes teaching in assigned specialty, nontraditional student instruction, program management, and personal computer operations; or An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Desired Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Composition, Rhetoric, TESOL, or Reading, or English or Education degree with an emphasis in Composition, Rhetoric, Literacy, or TESOL Prior Tutoring or Learning Center management experience Fluency in Spanish, French, or Portuguese Familiarity with Universal Design for Learning Equivalency Statement Applicants who do not meet the qualifications as stated above are encouraged to put in writing precisely how their background and experience have prepared them with the equivalent combination of education, training and experience required for the responsibilities of this position.

$ 69,821.00- $119,012.00 •Actual Salary determined by education, experience, and any applicable grant limitations per the collective bargaining agreement. Applicants should be aware it is unlikely the salary will be at or near the top of the range.
