Qualifications:
  • Massachusetts Department of Education Teacher Licensure:
    Reading, All Levels
  • Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) Endorsement required
  • Bilingual Preferred
Responsibilities:
  • Provide targeted reading instruction to students performing significantly below grade level
  • Assess student strengths, challenges, and interests to inform instruction and increase engagement
  • Utilize a range of assessment tools; analyze results to guide daily instruction
  • Instruct small group intervention classes
  • Collaborate with staff to develop and implement focused interventions
  • Regularly monitor student progress to promote academic growth
  • Design responsive instruction in collaboration with Special Education and EL staff
  • Implement evidence-based lessons to improve student outcomes in reading
  • Support content area teachers in selecting appropriate reading materials
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to support student success
  • Align instruction with Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and WIDA standards
  • Maintain communication with families regarding student progress and resources
  • Actively contribute to a positive school culture and climate
  • Demonstrate respect for and commitment to diversity
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by administration
