Massachusetts Department of Education Teacher Licensure:
Reading, All Levels- Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) Endorsement required
- Bilingual Preferred
Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted reading instruction to students performing significantly below grade level
- Assess student strengths, challenges, and interests to inform instruction and increase engagement
- Utilize a range of assessment tools; analyze results to guide daily instruction
- Instruct small group intervention classes
- Collaborate with staff to develop and implement focused interventions
- Regularly monitor student progress to promote academic growth
- Design responsive instruction in collaboration with Special Education and EL staff
- Implement evidence-based lessons to improve student outcomes in reading
- Support content area teachers in selecting appropriate reading materials
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to support student success
- Align instruction with Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and WIDA standards
- Maintain communication with families regarding student progress and resources
- Actively contribute to a positive school culture and climate
- Demonstrate respect for and commitment to diversity
- Perform additional duties as assigned by administration
