Reading Interventionist/Specialist(s) (South Coast Ed Collaborative 12 months/5 days per week) South Coast Educational Collaborative - 3.7 Swansea, MA Job Details Full-time $60,250 - $105,044 a year 7 hours ago Qualifications Employee relationship building Full Job Description Assess students throughout the Collaborative and identify students at-risk relative to literacy skills. Design and implement useful reading interventions using research-based methodology. Communicate with Collaborative personnel and parents/guardians of students regarding reading levels and rate of progress. Complete student evaluations/screenings/standardized testing in accordance with Collaborative guidelines Provide direct instruction in individual and small group interventions and assist with classroom implementation. Complete daily service documentation Gather, compile, and disaggregate data; and link that data to student learning and inform instruction. Differentiate instruction based on assessment data. Write professional reports, develop Individual Education Programs (IEP), maintain data collection employing research-based best practice strategies to demonstrate student progress and adjust student goals Document interventions and progress on each student. Develop and implement lesson plans and show written evidence of preparation as required. Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned. Present subject matter according to the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks using deeper learning pedagogy Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process. Be a positive role model for students and support the mission of the Collaborative Create classroom environments conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students. Manage student behavior Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Assist in selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials. Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents/guardians and community members. Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly. Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills. Keep informed of and comply with state and Collaborative regulations and policies for educators. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
