$25 per hour About the Role We are seeking an engaging, patient, and enthusiastic After-School Math & Reading Teacher to support our Elementary (K-5) students. In this role, you will help young learners build confidence, strengthen foundational literacy and numeracy skills, complete homework, and develop strong study habits in a structured, supportive environment. This position is ideal for certified teachers, retired educators, current education majors, or experienced tutors looking for a rewarding, consistent part-time schedule aligned with the academic calendar.

Schedule & Working Hours Schedule:

Monday through Friday, approximately 2:30 PM - 5:30 PM or 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM (15 or 20 hours per week).

School Calendar:

Follows active school days (~ 205 days/year). Options to work full time in Summer.

Key Responsibilities Instruction & Support:

Deliver engaging small-group or 1-on-1 instruction in foundational K-5 Reading (phonics, fluency, comprehension) and Math (number sense, basic operations, word problems).

Homework Assistance:

Guide students through daily homework assignments, ensuring understanding rather than just giving answers.

Progress Tracking:

Monitor individual student growth, identify learning gaps, and provide feedback to parents or school administration as needed.

Classroom Management:

Maintain a positive, safe, and organized learning space that encourages active participation and good behavior.

Activity Planning:

Qualifications & Requirements Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education, English, Mathematics, or a related field preferred (current Education majors nearing graduation are encouraged to apply).

Experience:

Previous teaching, tutoring, or instruction experience with K-5 elementary students.

Skills:

Strong understanding of elementary math concepts and early literacy/reading development strategies.

Personal Attributes:

Patient, energetic, dependable, and skilled at motivating young learners.

Background Check:

Must pass a mandatory background check and fingerprinting required for working in a school environment.

Pay:

$49,920.45 - $60,119.25 per year
