Two full-time opportunities are available for experienced Reading Specialists eager to support both elementary and K-8 students, with an immediate start through June 2027. Key Qualifications:
Active Pennsylvania (PA) teaching certification/license, including Reading Specialist certification (required) Proven mastery of subject matter, instructional strategies, and resource materials specific to reading intervention and literacy Prior school-based experience, particularly in urban settings Strong classroom and behavioral management abilities Ability to create rigorous lesson plans aligned to current state and district standards, using formative assessments and differentiation Confidence working within district guidelines and local community context Experience working with a variety of elementary grade levels, including K-8 caseloads Must possess reliable transportation Comfortable completing all required PA clearances Availability for a Zoom interview
Role Responsibilities:
Provide expert reading instruction and intervention for assigned students in elementary and K-8 settings Develop and implement individualized lesson plans that target specific literacy needs and align with curriculum standards Monitor student progress, utilizing assessments to adapt instruction and maximize student growth Foster a positive, productive classroom environment that supports diverse learners and encourages a love for reading Collaborate with colleagues, families, and administration to drive literacy success across the school community This contract role offers a consistent full-time schedule of 35 hours per week, enabling you to focus on meaningful, long-term outcomes for students.
