JOB GOAL

To provide structured small-group instruction tailored to the Science of Reading and Foundational Math skill gaps.

STRATEGIC FOCUS AREA

Focus on students scoring just a few points below proficiency target thresholds to ensure students on the cusp of proficiency receive the focused support needed to cross the threshold.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinates and facilitates the school's academic intervention program. Collaborates with teachers individually to identify the academic needs of students, to set learning goals and targets, and to problem solve with teachers to develop best practices for continuous academic growth of students. Assists teachers with the collection of data, analysis of data results and supports the sharing of findings with all staff. Reviews student achievement and assists with placing students in appropriate academic intervention and support services. Teaches targeted literacy intervention to small groups of students daily using research-based strategies and resources. Assists students using software and materials related to academic and literacy programs. Meets regularly with the classroom teacher to plan instruction that correlates with the individual student's needs or as requested by the classroom teacher. Attends professional development to enhance knowledge of pedagogy and content, especially literacy. Maintains and submits accurate and up-to-date management records of all students' progress. Maintains confidentiality concerning student records. Page 2 of 2 Conducts professional development sessions. Performs other duties and responsibilities related to academic intervention as assigned by the supervisor.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

$30 hourly (if certified) for approximately 16.6 hours per week (4 hours and 10 minutes per day). Position runs through April 30th.
