Job Description
General Statement of Duties Meets reading team administrative needs and supports student reading abilities. Essential Duties
- Schedules reading services and coordinates logistical needs.
- Under supervision, facilitates reading sessions for individuals and small groups using approved plans and materials.
- Encourages students to develop reading confidence and to be academically successful.
- May administer approved assessment tools.
- Collects data and forwards to the Specialist or Teacher for attendance, assessment, or other purposes.
- Communicates effectively with students, staff, parents, administrators, volunteers, community partners, and others.
- Prepares and maintains records.
- Assists certified professionals with creation, organization, and distribution of materials.
- May assist instructors with classroom management and organization.
- Demonstrates appropriate use of technology to support instruction and student learning.
- Models appropriate behaviors in all professional interactions.
- Follows instructions, policies, procedures, Standards of Learning, Virginia Literacy Act, and other guidelines.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
