Job Description

If you are an experienced education professional looking to make a difference in students' lives, a one-to-one teaching position with Spring Academy might be the ideal match for you. ABOUT Spring Academy is a private school in Seattle educating students exclusively through one-to-one instruction. We are a progressive school for students who face obstacles in the traditional classroom setting: academic challenges, social or emotional issues, or learning disabilities. Each child has the capacity for success, and we are committed to helping our students recognize and realize their full potential and abilities. Our work is rooted in compassion, personalization, and professionalism. In addition to our onsite school, we partner with other private schools in Seattle to provide long-term, 1:1 instructional programs for individual students.
POSITION
We are looking for a 1:1 teacher who shares our passion for education tailored to each child and has the requisite educational expertise to contribute to our mission. Our teachers address learning goals related to the needs of students at private schools. These students are enrolled in regular education classes but have additional learning needs.
The position includes:
15-25 hours per week Monday-Thursday schedule (2 or 4-day workweek) $40 per hour Health+dental+vision insurance, 401k
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications: Elementary or Middle School teaching experience Experience instructing students with learning disabilities Enjoys engaging directly with students in a one-on-one setting Flexible and able to adapt to a variety of student levels and personalities
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education (or equivalent certification) Expertise teaching Reading, Writing, and Math in grades 2-8 3+ years classroom teaching experience
