Mission, Vision, and Core Values Department of Occupational Therapy The mission of the CSUDH Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) Program and Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) Program is to prepare entry-level clinical practitioners with knowledge, skills, and understanding necessary to practice in traditional as well as emerging occupational therapy roles with an excellent foundation for later specialization and lifelong learning. The MSOT and OTD Programs have been planned with enthusiasm to help prepare students for a professional career focused on helping people achieve skills and utilize resources to live independent and meaningful lives. The programs are structured toward producing client-centered therapists with enhanced critical thinking abilities. It aims to produce professionals, who can research, develop, implement, and evaluate procedures utilizing a high degree of independent judgment and to consult where appropriate with other members of the health care team.

https://www.csudh.edu/ot/ The Position The temporary faculty pool is continuously open, and positions are filled based on student enrollment and authorized funding. Candidates may need to be available to begin teaching on short notice. The Fall term begins in late August and ends in mid-December; the Spring term begins mid-January and ends in mid-May. Opportunities for teaching during the Summer Sessions may also be available. Responsibilities Promote the University's mission, vision, and core values Adhere to CSUDH Policies and Procedures including all Guidelines stated on the University Faculty Handbook Develop course syllabus on assigned course/s and develop appropriate course evaluations and learning activities that meet course objectives, program learning outcomes, and accreditation requirements Provide up-to-date occupational therapy course content in line with current professional trends and practice demands Implement appropriate instructional methods and technology that enhance student learning outcomes Maintain office hours and be accessible to students, faculty, and staff Provide timely, appropriate, and constructive student feedback that elicit critical thinking, enhance clinical reasoning, and promote professional development Contribute to curriculum development and the department strategic plan goals Participate in faculty meetings as well as department and university events Participate in evaluation processes that determine instructional effectiveness Prepares and submits instructional records, reports, and grades according to university policy Qualifications Required Qualifications A Bachelor's degree in the field relevant to the curriculum or related discipline. Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience at the college or university level and who can furnish evidence of strong teaching. Preferred Qualifications A Master's degree in the field relevant to the curriculum or related discipline. A PhD, a Post-professional OTD, or extensive professional experience is required for teaching upper-division core courses (300

• or 400-level).

Applicants must have experience in teaching undergraduates from diverse ages, socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds. Employment Requirement Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment. Salary and Benefit Information Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank. As of July 2024, the classification salary ranges for the respective ranks are:
