A Science Teacher teaches in the natural science fields for elementary to secondary school students. Most science courses taught prior to high school are general, with specialization occurring later in high school. Teachers may teach specialized courses in physics, biology or chemistry. Other topics taught include physical science, computer science, astronomy, and geology.
We're seeking a full‑time Science Teacher to support middle and high school students in Soldotna, Alaska for the 2026-2027 school year . This onsite role includes core science instruction along with science‑related electives such as Robotics, STEM, Engineering Concepts, and Technology‑based electives . The position is stable, full‑time, and offers a structured travel pay package for candidates commuting 50+ miles .
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide daily instruction in core science subjects (Life Science, Earth Science, Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry depending on certification) Teach science‑related electives such as Robotics, STEM, Engineering, and Technology courses Develop and implement standards‑aligned lesson plans Support differentiated instruction for diverse learners Maintain a structured, student‑centered classroom environment Collaborate with grade‑level teams, administrators, and support staff Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation Participate in school‑wide events, professional development, and team meetings
QUALIFICATIONS
Active or eligible Alaska Teaching Certificate with Science endorsement (required) Experience teaching middle or high school science (preferred) Experience with Robotics, STEM, or technology‑based electives (preferred) Strong classroom management and instructional planning skills Ability to work full‑time, onsite for the 2026-2027 school year ROLE DETAILSContract Dates Soldotna School District 2026-2027
