A Science Teacher teaches in the natural science fields for elementary to secondary school students. Most science courses taught prior to high school are general, with specialization occurring later in high school. Teachers may teach specialized courses in physics, biology or chemistry. Other topics taught include physical science, computer science, astronomy, and geology.

The teaching schedule will be dependent upon class assignment,assignment may be classroom-based, virtual, or some combination thereof,depending on need and instructor preference. Candidates workinganywhere in the U.S. may be considered for a remote assignment. If you areselected for this position and are employed to work remotely from outside ofArizona, your overtime exemption status will depend on the laws of the statewhere you perform your work. For employees working outside of Arizona, you maybe hired as an hourly employee in accordance with state laws, and your positiontitle would be "Part-Time Faculty" instead of "Adjunct Instructor" inaccordance with university practices. These changes would not affect theposition duties as outlined. An hourly rate for this position would be$46.88-$56.25 per hour. Your teaching loadmay make you eligible for benefits if you work at a .50 FTE or greater for 90days or longer. You may also become eligible for retirement if you work at a.50 FTE or greater for 20 weeks or longer. Ph.D. in a related field AND A minimum of 3 years working as a professional expert in the field. Preferred Qualifications Terminal degree in Information Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, Library Science, Media Ecology, Game Media, Gaming Behavior, Game Design and Production, Game Development, or other related field.
