Minimum Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Master's in chemistry OR Bachelor's in chemistry or biochemistry AND Master's in biochemistry, chemical engineering, chemical physics, physics, molecular biology or geochemistry OR Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area OR the equivalent. Equivalent qualifications may include related education, training, employment and professional experience that would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience in this field as determined by the District Equivalency Committee. Demonstrated excellence in academic background and in teaching chemistry. Knowledge and use of modern technologies and computerized applications in chemistry. Experience in teaching organic chemistry. Commitment to examine, reflect, and modify instructional, relational, and classroom practices in order to effectively engage and support disproportionately impacted student populations with the goal of closing equity gaps.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS SUMMARY

This recruitment will remain active for a period of one year, from the position opening date. If there is no longer a need to fill, the position may be closed sooner, and applicants will be notified. This is a continuous recruitment to fill part-time, and temporary faculty assignments on an as-needed basis. When the need to fill arises, the department will refer to this pool of part-time faculty.
