This role offers an exciting opportunity to foster curiosity, develop critical thinking skills, and guide students through complex scientific concepts. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm for science and math, combined with a commitment to creating an engaging learning environment that promotes academic excellence and personal growth. Paid positions are available, including internships, with a focus on nurturing future scientists and mathematicians. Responsibilities Deliver dynamic lessons in physics, calculus, and related subjects such as trigonometry, geometry, differential equations, and algebra, ensuring clarity and student engagement. Develop comprehensive curricula that incorporate modern teaching methods and learning technology to enhance understanding of scientific principles and mathematical theories. Design and implement assessments aligned with standardized testing requirements to evaluate student progress effectively. Provide individualized tutoring and mentoring to support diverse learning needs, including students requiring special education accommodations. Manage classroom behavior through effective classroom management strategies, fostering a positive environment conducive to learning. Collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning, curriculum development, and instructional design to continuously improve teaching practices. Engage in ongoing professional development through research, scientific research projects, library services, and participation in educational administration activities. Qualifications Bachelor's or higher degree in Physics, Mathematics, or a related field; advanced degrees preferred. Proven experience teaching physics or calculus at the high school or higher education level, including classroom experience with diverse student populations. Strong knowledge of core subjects such as calculus, trigonometry, geometry, algebra, discrete math, differential equations, molecular biology, genetics, microbiology, biochemistry, organic chemistry, cell biology, and laboratory experience. Familiarity with instructional design tools and learning technology platforms to create engaging lessons. Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex concepts and foster a collaborative classroom environment. Experience working with standardized testing formats and curriculum development standards. Demonstrated ability in classroom management, behavior management strategies, academic advising, and research laboratory experience is highly valued. Commitment to mentoring students' academic growth while promoting scientific research literacy and critical thinking skills.
