Job Description

Position Summary California Baptist University, an evangelical Christian university affiliated with the California Southern Baptist Convention, invites applications for a full-time instructor (non-tenure track) position in Chemistry beginning August 2026. The appointment includes teaching primarily undergraduate Organic Chemistry courses (for both science and non-science majors) and related chemistry courses. Additional lower and upper division Chemistry courses may be added based on the needs of the department and the applicant's areas of expertise. Candidates must embrace the mission of California Baptist University, and evidence a clear understanding of, and commitment to, excellence in teaching through the integration of Christian faith with learning. Pay Range The compensation for this appointment will range from $62,000 - $65,000 annually and reflects what California Baptist University ( CBU ) reasonably expects to pay for this faculty appointment. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications and experience of the applicant, as well as market conditions. In addition to wages, CBU offers a robust suite of employee benefits. Qualifications Candidates should possess at least a M.S. in Chemistry, though applicants with a master's degree in a related field and significant experience in chemistry may be considered. Preference will be given to those with prior teaching experience. Teaching Responsibilities Teaching lower and upper division courses in Chemistry and related science courses based on the needs of the department and the applicant's areas of expertise.
