PART TIME
instructors to conduct hands-on Science and/or Art After School Programs in various schools in the Denver metro area . Instructors will conduct after school classes 2-3 days per week depending on availability. Therefore, afternoon availability between 2:00 and 4:00 pm is required. Pay $25-33/hour for each 1.5-2 hour shift. Training is paid. Mileage too!
Specifically looking for instructors who:
Are located in the Denver metro area. We have opportunities available in North Denver (Thornton/Westminster), West Denver (Arvada/Lakewood), and South Denver (Littleton/Centennial). Are available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and/or Thursdays from 2:00 - 4:00 PM (must be available at least 2 afternoons per week, Thursday availability is preferred). Have prior classroom experience or a demonstrated ability to independently manage and teach a group of up to 20 children on their own. Can commit to at least the Fall season (September to December). Are available to begin assignments in mid September. Do you want to have fun while working? Come work for us as a Mad Scientist and teach after school science enrichment classes! We specialize in teaching in a workshop style, meaning K-5 students in one class, working on hands-on science experiments. This is an approximation of the time window that the right candidates will have. The instructors will be teaching at schools, fun science hands-on classes. It's a perfect job if you are looking for something part-time. Each 1.5-2 hour shift pays $25-33/hour. There is only 1 class assigned a day (minimum 2 classes in a week). We provide our amazing instructors with curriculum & classroom management training, science kits with equipment and manuals, guidance & support, good compensation, AND we pay mileage (if applicable per the company policy). We may also invite you to teach art programs at Imagine Arts Academy, our sister brand, if you're interested and available. Who are our Mad Scientists? Our instructors have very varied backgrounds! We have college students, retired folks, those with teaching/childcare experience, and the list goes on. The main qualities we look for in applicants: A willingness to learn and take helpful feedback Flexible schedule/afternoon availability Good sense of humor Strong patience and adaptability in dynamic environments Clear and punctual communication skills Enjoy and have experience working with school-aged children (5-11 years grades K-5th) Required to have a dependable car Age 19+ This job will offer A great resume building experience of teaching STEM classes Training and lesson plans Experience to work in a very professional organization Good compensation and mileage The opportunity to positively impact your community A supportive office team to help you along the way!
