Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Science Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching secondary science (life science/biology and/or chemistry), fostering student engagement, and developing comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards. This role offers an opportunity to inspire students in their science journey while utilizing innovative learning technologies and instructional strategies. Candidates with experience in curriculum development, classroom management, and working with diverse student populations are highly encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Deliver engaging lessons in Life Science/Biology and/or Chemistry Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans that meet educational standards and promote critical thinking skills Utilize various learning technologies and instructional design methods to enhance student understanding and participation Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and project-based evaluations Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive learning environment conducive to academic success Provide individualized tutoring and mentoring to support students' unique learning needs Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, lesson planning, and school-wide initiatives Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate progress with parents and guardians Incorporate laboratory experiences or dissection activities where applicable to enrich science-mathematics integration Engage in ongoing professional development, research, and educational research practices to improve teaching effectiveness Experience Prior classroom experience teaching middle school or high school science subjects is preferred Demonstrated expertise in advanced science topics is a plus Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds, including special education and EL (English Learner) populations Proven skills in lesson planning, instructional design, classroom management, and standardized testing preparation Familiarity with research laboratory practices or scientific research enhances the ability to integrate real-world applications into lessons Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, students, and parents Knowledge of learning technology tools and educational software to facilitate innovative teaching methods This position offers an enriching environment for educators committed to fostering academic excellence in science while supporting student growth through dynamic instruction and research-based practices.
