Current enrollment in a state approved teacher preparation program leading toward degree and/or certification/licensure. Meet teacher preparation program requirements for internship placement.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of industry-standard equipment and computer applications. Knowledge of concepts in child development, curriculum planning, and classroom management. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with diverse groups of people. Ability to learn and adapt to the school's teaching methods and policies. Typical duties include but are not limited to: Work under the direct supervision of an appropriately credentialed clinical educator trained cooperating teacher with a minimum of three years of experience. Assist the lead teacher in delivering instructional activities and lesson plans aligned with the curriculum. Support individual and small group instruction to reinforce learning objectives. Help with grading, record-keeping, and assessing student progress. Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, lunchrooms, playgrounds, and/or field trips. Prepare teaching materials, classroom displays and learning resources. Participate in planning meetings, professional development sessions, and parent-teacher conferences (as appropriate). Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive classroom environment. Reflect on teaching practices and accept feedback for professional growth.
