Duties Design and implement comprehensive Science curriculum tailored to grade 6 standards, incorporating best practices in literacy education and instructional design. Utilize learning technology tools effectively to create interactive lessons and support differentiated instruction. Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and portfolio reviews; adjust instruction accordingly. Foster a positive classroom environment through effective classroom management strategies and behavior management techniques. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional strategies, and school-wide initiatives; participate in professional development opportunities. Provide academic advising and support for students needing additional tutoring or specialized instruction, including those in special education or Montessori programs. Engage with parents and guardians through conferences to communicate student progress and strategies for improvement. Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and lesson plans to ensure organizational efficiency. Requirements Valid teaching certification/license for middle school Science or Elementary through grade 6. Proven classroom experience with grade 6 students; private school experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of literacy education techniques, curriculum development, and instructional design principles. Proficiency in working with learning technology tools and educational software platforms. Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—and organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities effectively. Demonstrated ability to mentor students individually or in small groups; experience in tutoring or academic advising is desirable. Familiarity with classroom management strategies, behavior management techniques, and special education accommodations if applicable.
