In person - Wellington, FL 33414 Job Description - Part-Time Science Teacher Middle School Science 7 & 8 | Earth Space Science | Biology Score Academy / Score At The Top Wellington, a Cognia-accredited private school, is seeking an enthusiastic and engaging part-time Science Teacher to join our Wellington campus for the 2026-2027 school year. This position is approximately 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday , and includes instruction in: Middle School Science 7 Middle School Science 8 Earth/Space Science Biology Our highly personalized learning environment features one-on-one and small-group instruction , allowing teachers to truly understand each student and adapt instruction to his or her individual learning needs. We are specifically looking for a science teacher who believes science should be experienced, not simply taught from a textbook . The ideal candidate will incorporate hands-on activities, demonstrations, experiments, and laboratory experiences into instruction whenever appropriate. Candidates should be energetic, creative, comfortable working with a variety of learners, and able to make scientific concepts engaging and relevant for students. Principal Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Providing one-on-one and small-group instruction in Science 7, Science 8, Earth/Space Science, and Biology Designing and implementing engaging, hands-on science lessons Incorporating laboratory activities, experiments, demonstrations, projects, and real-world applications into the curriculum Creating a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, questioning, critical thinking, and active student participation Adapting instruction to meet individual student learning styles, strengths, and needs Developing customized lesson plans and instructional activities to maximize student growth Assessing student understanding through classwork, projects, labs, quizzes, tests, and other appropriate measures Maintaining accurate qualitative and quantitative data for grades, progress reports, and student records Serving as a positive mentor and role model for students Communicating effectively with school administration regarding student progress and academic concerns Participating in professional development and school-related meetings throughout the academic year Maintaining an organized, safe, and productive classroom and laboratory environment Qualifications Bachelor's Degree required , preferably with an emphasis in Science, Biology, Environmental Science, Earth/Space Science, Education, or a related field Demonstrated knowledge and confidence teaching middle school science, Earth/Space Science, and Biology Prior teaching, tutoring, or instructional experience required Ability and enthusiasm for incorporating hands-on learning and laboratory activities Strong classroom engagement skills and the ability to make science approachable and interesting Ability to differentiate instruction for students with varying academic needs and learning styles Strong organizational, communication, and technology skills Ability to reliably commute to our Wellington, Florida campus Teaching certification is preferred but not required Experience working with neurodiverse learners, including students with ADHD, anxiety, or students on the autism spectrum, is highly preferred Enthusiasm for working in a personalized, energetic, and supportive private-school environment Schedule Approximately 20 hours per week Monday through Friday Daytime school hours Consistent weekly availability required throughout the school year Benefits Employee discount Flexible scheduling within school needs Professional development assistance Referral program Application Question Please tell us about your experience teaching middle school and/or high school science.
