Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Middle or High School Science Teacher to inspire students' curiosity and foster a love for scientific discovery. In this role, you will deliver engaging lessons across various science disciplines, including biology, chemistry, physics, and earth sciences. Your expertise will help students develop critical thinking skills, understand complex concepts, and apply scientific principles through hands-on experiments and innovative instructional methods. Duties Design and implement comprehensive science curricula aligned with educational standards and tailored to diverse student needs. Deliver engaging lessons that incorporate the latest learning technology, interactive experiments, and real-world applications. Develop assessments, including quizzes, tests, and projects, to evaluate student understanding and progress. Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive learning environment that encourages participation and curiosity. Guide students through laboratory activities such as dissection, microscopy, and molecular biology experiments to deepen their understanding of scientific concepts. Provide individualized tutoring and academic advising to support students' academic growth and interest in STEM fields. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional design, and school-wide initiatives to enhance science education quality. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Science Education, Biology, Chemistry, Physics or related field; advanced degrees preferred. Proven classroom experience teaching middle or high school science with a strong record of student engagement and achievement. Expertise in various scientific disciplines including biology (cell biology, genetics, microbiology), chemistry (organic chemistry), physics (geometry, trigonometry, calculus), and mathematics (algebra, discrete math). Proficiency with learning technology tools such as digital labs, virtual simulations, and educational software. Laboratory experience with dissection techniques, research laboratory procedures, and safety protocols. Strong communication skills for effective instruction, mentoring, and collaboration with staff and parents. Knowledge of standardized testing procedures and experience preparing students for exams. Ability to manage a classroom effectively while fostering a supportive environment for diverse learners including those in special education or Montessori settings. Experience with curriculum development, instructional design, research projects or higher education teaching is highly desirable.
