A Science Teacher teaches in the natural science fields for elementary to secondary school students. Most science courses taught prior to high school are general, with specialization occurring later in high school. Teachers may teach specialized courses in physics, biology or chemistry. Other topics taught include physical science, computer science, astronomy, and geology.
$2,000 to $4,400 per course per semester (15 weeks), depending on course assignment, qualifications, experience, and instructional responsibilities.

Northwest Suburban College 5999 New Wilke Road, Building 500 Rolling Meadows, IL 60008 Position Summary The Part-Time MRI Instructor is responsible for providing high-quality instruction in the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Program. The instructor will facilitate student learning through classroom, laboratory, simulation, and online instructional activities while supporting the mission, goals, and educational objectives of Northwest Suburban College. The instructor will contribute to curriculum delivery, student success, assessment activities, and continuous program improvement while maintaining compliance with institutional, accreditation, and regulatory requirements. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInstruction Teach assigned MRI courses in accordance with approved course syllabi and curriculum. Deliver engaging classroom, laboratory, simulation, and/or online instruction. Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, assignments, and assessments. Maintain current knowledge of MRI technology, imaging procedures, and industry standards. Integrate professional standards and best practices into instruction. Student Support Provide academic guidance and support to students. Maintain regular communication with students regarding course expectations and performance. Evaluate student progress and provide timely feedback. Maintain appropriate office hours and student accessibility. Assessment and Documentation Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and academic records. Submit grades, reports, and required documentation by established deadlines. Participate in student learning outcomes assessment and program evaluation activities. Assist with accreditation-related documentation as requested. Program Development Participate in curriculum review and continuous improvement initiatives. Assist in the development and revision of course materials and instructional resources. Collaborate with faculty, clinical affiliates, and administration to support program quality and effectiveness. Compliance and Professionalism Adhere to all institutional policies and procedures. Maintain professional conduct and ethical standards. Support a positive learning environment that promotes student success. Participate in faculty meetings and professional development activities as requested. Minimum Qualifications Associate degree or higher from an accredited institution. Current ARRT certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) or equivalent recognized credential. Minimum of three (3) years of recent MRI clinical experience. Demonstrated knowledge of MRI principles, patient care, safety procedures, anatomy, pathology, and imaging protocols. Strong communication, organizational, and instructional skills. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher. Prior teaching experience in higher education, healthcare education, or professional training programs. Experience with online learning platforms and instructional technologies. Experience with curriculum development and student assessment. Knowledge of accreditation standards and healthcare education requirements. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, sit, and move throughout instructional settings. Ability to operate computers and instructional technology. Ability to demonstrate MRI-related procedures and techniques in laboratory or simulation settings.
