Job Description
Boston Teacher Residency (BTR), an AmeriCorps program, is a clinical teacher preparation program whose graduates support student achievement from day one and who stay in teaching, continuing to refine and improve their practice. Created in 2002 as a joint initiative between the Boston Public Schools and
BPE, BTR
was designed to meet the evolving needs of Boston's children and families. BTR prepares teachers in Elementary (grades 1-6) English (grades 6-12) Math and/or Computer Science (grades 6-12) General Science (grades 6-9) Biology, Chemistry, or Physics (grades 9-12) Program Highlights Learn to teach in a collaborative and supportive environment with experienced educators Complete an integrated graduate curriculum designed and taught by BTR faculty Earn a low-cost M.Ed. granted by UMass Boston and an MA Initial Teacher License Participate in continued professional development and receive ongoing coaching after graduationMinimum Eligibility:
