Full School Day Educational/Training/Experience/License Required:
DESE Massachusetts educator license in Biology(Grades 912) required. Strong content knowledge in biology, including cell biology, genetics, ecology, and human body systems. Demonstrated ability to engage and motivate high school students in scientific inquiry. Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment. Experience with differentiated instruction, lab-based learning, and technology integration, differentiated instruction and technology integration.
Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging biology instruction aligned with Massachusetts Science and Technology/Engineering Curriculum Frameworks. Design and implement laboratory investigations and hands-on learning experiences. Develop and administer assessments to monitor student progress and provide timely feedback. Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners. Integrate instructional technology and data analysis tools to enhance student learning. Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with students, families, and colleagues. Participate in department meetings, school initiatives, and ongoing professional development. Ensure a safe, organized, and compliant laboratory environment. Contribute to the school community through extracurricular activities and events as appropriate.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum:
Bachelors Degree Strong classroom management and communication skills. Must successfully pass a CORI background check and fingerprinting as required by Massachusetts law.

Tahanto Regional Middle/High School is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Biology Teacher to inspire student learning in the life sciences. The successful candidate will foster curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific literacy through engaging, standards-based instruction and hands-on laboratory experiences. This role requires a commitment to creating an inclusive, student-centered classroom environment that supports the diverse needs of all learners.

Experience teaching high school biology.

Familiarity with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and NGSS-aligned practices.

Background in Advanced Placement (AP) Biology or related coursework.

Experience supporting a range of learners, including students with diverse academic needs.
