JOB DETAILS

The educator is the primary instructional delivery person in the classroom. Student achievement and growth are primarily dependent on the work and efforts of the classroom teacher. The position is demanding, varied and complex. The classroom teacher must be a relationship builder, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be well trained in content knowledge and teaching strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS

Valid license from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in Health/Family Consumer Sciences (all)

SEI Endorsement Additional content area licensure is encouraged Licensure requirements and validity are subject to change at the discretion of DESE An understanding of the concepts of institutional and structural racism, and bias, and their impact on underserved and underrepresented communities

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, to children and adults

Commitment to remain current in content knowledge and teaching strategies

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and in conformity with state certification requirements.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

As negotiated with Lynn School Committee and Lynn Teachers Union. 180 days per year Teacher Salary Estimator
