Valley View School is a private therapeutic boarding school for boys, located in North Brookfield, Massachusetts. Since 1970, we've built a strong reputation for helping students from across the United States who face mild learning differences and manageable behavioral challenges. Our mission is to provide a supportive, structured, and engaging environment where young people can grow academically, emotionally, and socially. We are seeking an energetic, creative, and compassionate Intermediate/Middle School Science Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate is an experienced educator who can inspire curiosity and resilience in students while delivering engaging, accessible science instruction. With small class sizes and a collaborative team, you'll have the opportunity to make a significant impact on each student's learning and personal development. Possible courses include General Science 5-8, Earth Science, and Life Science.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement engaging science lessons tailored to individual learning styles and needs Create a classroom environment that supports academic focus and structure Manage classroom behavior effectively and positively Encourage and support students in setting personal and academic goals Participate in the broader school community, including residential support and supervision of extracurricular activities Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and residential staff to ensure a unified approach to student development
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in science or a related field (required) Teaching certification (preferred) Minimum 3 years of teaching experience (preferred) Strong classroom management and communication skills Ability to motivate and connect with students in a therapeutic setting A team player with patience, adaptability, and a good sense of humor
