Job Description

Job Summary

Immacolata Catholic Church is seeking a dedicated and mission‑driven Full‑Time Middle School Science Teacher to join our faculty for the upcoming school year. The teacher will provide rigorous, developmentally appropriate science instruction to students in grades 6-8 while supporting the Catholic identity and educational mission of the Academy. The ideal candidate fosters a learning environment that encourages inquiry, critical thinking, and academic excellence, and collaborates effectively with colleagues, administrators, and families.



Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging science lessons aligned with school curriculum and standards (e.g., NGSS or diocesan guidelines).

Teach a range of middle school science topics such as life science, physical science, earth and space science, and scientific inquiry.

Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.

Incorporate hands-on experiments, labs, and project-based learning.

Assess student understanding through tests, quizzes, projects, lab activities, and formative assessments.

Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents/guardians.

Create a respectful, inclusive, and structured classroom environment.

Integrate Catholic teachings and values into lessons and classroom culture.

Collaborate with faculty and staff on curriculum development and school initiatives.

Participate in school activities, faculty meetings, and professional development.

Support students' social, emotional, and spiritual development.

Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Education, Science, or related field (Master's preferred).

Current state teaching certification or ability to obtain certification.

Experience teaching middle school science preferred.

Strong classroom management and instructional skills.

Commitment to Catholic education and values.

Practicing Catholic preferred (depending on school requirements).

Excellent communication and organizational skills.
