Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Computer Science/IT Teacher for the academic year SY26-27 to inspire and educate students in a vibrant learning environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to deliver engaging lessons, foster critical thinking, and cultivate a love for technology and computer science among diverse student populations. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of innovative teaching techniques, technical acumen, and a commitment to educational excellence. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive computer science and information technology lessons aligned with educational standards and student needs. Design lesson plans that effectively integrate educational technology to improve student learning. Deliver interactive classroom instruction to students across various age groups, focusing on providing a foundational knowledge and skillset for a career in Information Technology and Computer Science Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, projects, and standardized tests; provide constructive feedback to support growth. Collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning, interdisciplinary projects, and school-wide initiatives to promote innovative teaching practices. Manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering an inclusive environment that respects diverse learning styles and cultural backgrounds. Maintain current knowledge of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices through continuous professional development to ensure instruction remains relevant and aligned with workforce needs. Provide student supervision during designated times, including morning arrival, lunch, and dismissal, and assist with promotional and recruitment activities, including trade shows and special events. Skills Established core knowledge of Information Technology and Computer Science concepts including at least 3 of the following: software development (programming), networking, cloud computing, cybersecurity, game design and artificial intelligence. Skilled in delivering hands-on activities in classroom instruction to create a project-based learning environment.. Excellent classroom management skills combined with the ability to adapt lessons for different learning styles and special education needs. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student success. Effective communication skills for mentoring students and engaging with diverse cultural backgrounds. Experience with certification preparation and proctoring for vendors like CompTIA, Certiport is a plus.
