Duties Develop and deliver comprehensive science lessons aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating modern teaching methods and technology integration. Design and implement engaging laboratory experiments, dissections, and research projects to enhance practical understanding of biological, chemical, and physical sciences. Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and cultural backgrounds, ensuring all students can access and excel in science education. Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, providing timely feedback to support their academic growth. Collaborate with fellow teachers to develop interdisciplinary lesson plans, share best practices, and coordinate curriculum implementation. Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive learning environment conducive to active participation and scientific exploration. Prepare students for standardized testing by aligning instruction with assessment requirements and offering targeted tutoring when needed. Incorporate educational technology tools into lessons to enhance engagement, understanding, and digital literacy skills. Mentor students interested in scientific research or pursuing careers in STEM fields, fostering their curiosity and academic development. Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and participation in accordance with educational regulations. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Science Education or a related field; advanced degrees preferred. Proven experience teaching science at the high school level, including middle school experience is advantageous. Strong knowledge of scientific disciplines such as biology (cell biology, genetics, biochemistry), chemistry (organic chemistry), physics (geometry, trigonometry, calculus), and mathematics (algebra, differential equations). Familiarity with instructional design, assessment strategies, and educational technology integration. Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to adapt instruction for diverse learning styles and special education needs. Experience working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds; sensitivity to different learning preferences is essential. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, mentoring students, and engaging parents or guardians. Knowledge of educational compliance standards and regulation requirements relevant to secondary education settings.
