The Department of Biology invites applications for a pool of adjunct instructors to teach undergraduate biology lecture and laboratory courses. We seek enthusiastic educators committed to student success and excellence in teaching. Areas of Teaching Need Qualified candidates may be assigned to teach one or more of the following courses: Introductory Biology Sequence Topics may include: Basic chemistry for biological sciences Cell biology Genetics Evolution Biodiversity Ecology Non-Majors Biology Courses Human Biology Environmental Biology Brain and Behavior Laboratory Courses Anatomy and Physiology Laboratories Clinical Microbiology Laboratories Instruction may be offered in person, online, or in a hybrid format depending on departmental needs. Responsibilities Teach assigned courses and laboratories in accordance with departmental learning outcomes. Prepare course materials, lectures, laboratory exercises, assessments, and grading. Maintain regular communication with students and provide timely feedback. Utilize the institution's learning management system and other instructional technologies. Maintain accurate attendance and grading records. Participate in required departmental meetings, orientations, and training activities as appropriate. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in Biology or a closely related field. Demonstrated subject matter expertise in one or more of the areas listed above. Ability to teach effectively in both face-to-face and online learning environments. Preferred Qualifications College-level teaching experience. Experience teaching introductory biology courses and/or allied health laboratory courses. Experience with online teaching platforms and instructional technologies. Ph.D. in Biology or a related discipline.
