To Be Determined Job Description Oregon Outreach, Inc. is an accredited alternative high school program that contracts with school districts to provide credit recovery and graduation for students not on track. Our unique program develops classroom communities and provides interdisciplinary curriculum meeting students where they are academically. More information can be found on our website, www.oregon-outreach.org This position is for our Scappoose Academy, housed on campus of Scappoose High School. The Site Lead serves as the primary leader of the teaching team in our classroom at Oregon Outreach, Inc., overseeing daily operations and ensuring a positive, productive learning environment. This role is a combination of direct instruction and responsible for fostering communication between students, families, staff, and the school district while maintaining a structured, supportive environment for students' academic and post-secondary planning. The Site Lead also plays a critical role in managing attendance, behavior, and program enrollment.Key Responsibilities:
1.Attendance Management:
Oversee daily student attendance, ensuring accurate records are maintained. Follow up on student absences, providing support to families when necessary. Collaborate with staff to develop strategies to improve student attendance. 2.Family Communication:
Act as the primary point of contact for students' families, keeping them informed of student progress, attendance, and behavior. Facilitate regular meetings with parents and guardians to discuss academic goals, behavioral updates, and other concerns. Provide guidance to families on student post-secondary options, including college or career pathways. 3.Enrollment and Orientation:
Lead enrollment meetings with new students and families, ensuring they understand program expectations, goals, and procedures. Assist families in the enrollment process, ensuring all paperwork is completed and documented appropriately. Facilitate orientation sessions to welcome new students and set the tone for the program. 4. Communication withSchool District:
Serve as the liaison between the program and the school district, ensuring clear and consistent communication regarding student performance, district policies, and program updates. Attend district meetings as needed and provide feedback to both staff and district representatives. 5.Behavior Management:
Implement and enforce behavior management strategies to create a positive, respectful learning environment. Address student behavioral issues as they arise, working with teachers, families, and district representatives to develop corrective action plans. Provide support to teachers in managing classroom behavior and implementing individualized behavior plans. 6.Supervision and Management of On-site Teachers:
Provide direct supervision to on-site teachers, ensuring they are equipped to deliver high-quality instruction and support. Conduct regular check-ins with staff to provide feedback, support, and professional development. Assist with scheduling, curriculum planning, and classroom management to meet the needs of all students. Ensure compliance with all program policies and procedures. 7.Post-Secondary Planning:
Work with students on post-secondary planning, providing guidance on college admissions, career opportunities, and other educational pathways. Collaborate with teachers, families, and counselors to ensure each student has a clear, individualized plan for their future. Organize college and career readiness workshops, information sessions, and other relevant events for students and families. 8. Direct Instruction Deliver an interdisciplinary, problem-based curriculum that incorporates differentiated instruction strategies to meet the unique needs of students.
