Position Summary:

The Department of Physics at Duquesne University is seeking applications for an adjunct instructor position to teach in person a section of algebra-based general physics for undergraduate students with majors predominantly in the health and life sciences. Openings available for fall 2025 and beyond.

Responsibilities:

• Teach one section of the course per semester in person.
• Develop and deliver engaging lectures.
• Assess student performance through assignments and exams.
• Maintain regular office hours and provide academic support to students.
• Collaborate with department faculty to ensure curriculum alignment.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

Degree in a STEM discipline. Experience teaching general physics at college or AP high-school level. Excellent interpersonal skills. Enthusiasm for working with students with no previous exposure to physics.

Preferred Attributes:

Familiarity with applications of physics to health is a plus.
