Part-Time Instructor

  • ( 26005599 ) The Department of Chemistry at the University of Pittsburgh (Oakland Campus) invites applications for a one-term (Fall 2026), part-time Instructor.
This position has an anticipated start date of 8 September 2026 and an end date of 31 December 2026, is outside of the tenure stream and will require administrative and budgetary approval. Part-time Instructor duties will be equivalent to a 1.50 teaching assistant assignment and will consist of teaching a commensurate number of General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry lab and recitation sections as well as other associated activities (office hours, grading, etc.). Review of applications will begin as soon as possible and will continue until the position is filled.
Minimum qualifications:
Applicants should have earned a minimum of a bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline from an accredited university. Candidates possessing a special awareness of chemical safety practices and with demonstrated experience teaching university chemistry laboratories are especially desirable.
