AP Science Tutor Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced AP Science Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both mathematics and science, and a proven track record of helping students excel in their AP exams. The instructor will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging lessons, providing personalized feedback, and fostering a supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Instruction:
Teach AP Biology/ Chemistry and other higher level science subjects, strategies, and exam-taking skills to high school students.
Lesson Planning:
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs of individual students.
Assessment:
Evaluate students' progress through practice exams, quizzes, and assignments, providing constructive feedback.
Support:
Offer personalized support and guidance to help students achieve their target scores.
Motivation:
Inspire and motivate students to excel in their AP preparation and academic endeavors.
Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with other instructors and staff to ensure a cohesive and effective test preparation program.
Adaptability:
Stay updated on changes to the AP exams and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Science, Education, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
Experience:
Experience teaching AP Calculus and other higher level math and science subjects. Experience with other standardized tests (SAT, ACT, etc.) is a plus.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of AP and higher level science content, excellent communication skills, and the ability to engage and motivate students.
Certifications:
Teaching certification or credential is preferred but not required.
Availability:
Flexible schedule with the ability to teach Monday to Friday 9am- 6pm and weekends as needed.
