Jefferson Community College Job Summary The Natural Science Department of Jefferson Community and Technical College has openings for part time Biology Adjunct Instructors to teach all levels of biology. Classes begin August 2026.
Job Duties:
We are in regular need of instructors for these classes: Bio 112: Intro to Biology (Lecture) Bio 113: Intro to Biology (Lab) Bio 137: Human Anatomy & Physiology I (Lecture & Lab) Bio 139: Human Anatomy & Physiology II (Lecture & Lab) Bio 225: Microbiology (Lecture & Lab) Credit hours vary between classes but usually, lecture courses are 3 credits, and lab courses are 2 credits. The primary responsibilities of these positions are: Lesson plan and teach courses. Maintain some office hours for mentoring and coaching students. Attend faculty success and retention activities. Utilization of a learning management system such as Blackboard for communication and feedback. If you can teach at a remote campus, please make note of this on your application and/or cover letter (remote campuses include Carrollton County, Shelby County, Bullitt County and Southwest Campus).
Minimum Qualifications:
A master's degree with at least eighteen graduate hours in the discipline you will be teaching.
Special Note:
To teach Anatomy & Physiology at a Kentucky community college, the applicant must have a master's degree or higher and have taken at least 3 credit hours of a graduate level Anatomy or Physiology course. Please Attach your Transcript. Applicants will not be considered unless an official transcript or unofficial transcript has been included with the application. Applicants who achieved their master's degree or PhD in a foreign college must attach a letter from an international credential evaluation service such as WES (World Education Services).
