Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Upper School Science Teacher to inspire and educate students in grades 7 through 12. This role offers an exciting opportunity to foster curiosity, develop critical thinking skills, and cultivate a love for scientific exploration. The ideal candidate will bring a vibrant teaching style, a strong background in various scientific disciplines, and a commitment to nurturing young minds through innovative instructional methods. You will be responsible for designing engaging lessons, guiding students through complex concepts, and preparing them for success in standardized assessments and future academic pursuits. Duties Develop and deliver comprehensive science curricula across multiple disciplines including biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics. Create engaging lesson plans that incorporate the latest learning technology and instructional design principles to enhance student understanding. Conduct laboratory experiments, dissections, and research projects to provide hands-on learning experiences in cell biology, microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, organic chemistry, and other scientific fields. Manage classroom environments effectively by implementing behavior management strategies and maintaining a positive learning atmosphere. Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing preparation and individualized tutoring sessions. Provide academic advising and mentorship to support students' educational growth and personal development. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, research initiatives, and school-wide educational strategies to ensure continuous improvement in teaching quality. Skills Extensive knowledge of science subjects such as trigonometry, geometry, calculus, algebra, differential equations, discrete math, and related mathematical concepts. Proven experience in laboratory settings with skills in dissection techniques, scientific research methodologies, and laboratory safety protocols. Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage diverse learners including those in special education or Montessori environments. Proficiency in integrating learning technology into lesson plans for enhanced instruction and student engagement. Excellent communication skills for effective instruction, mentoring, parent interactions, and collaboration with colleagues. Experience with curriculum development tailored to various educational standards and assessments. Ability to design instructional materials that promote inquiry-based learning and critical thinking. Pay:
$45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
