Monticello is currently accepting resumes for a science position for the 2026-2027 academic year. We are looking for applicants who are passionate about student learning, collaboration and using data to guide instruction. We believe in hands-on learning when it comes to science and are looking for a candidate who is passionate about giving students experiences in the classroom that lead to mastery of the content. We are a college-prep school, which means we challenge students; hold them to high, measurable standards; and accelerate learning wherever possible. We also offer rich specials courses that support our Core Knowledge program. Students get consistent, quality instruction in visual art, music, and physical education, and--starting next year--computer science. Our "specials" teachers collaborate regularly with classroom teachers to integrate with and support the core curriculum. They are not siloed; they are an integral part of our program. Our regular paid collaboration time and effective meeting practices make the teamwork experience unlike any other school. We are positive, take ownership of our results, and support each to make amazing things happen for kids. We strive to create the right balance of collaboration, direction, support, and autonomy, and we give teachers many opportunities to lead and create. Even though we are a charter school, we offer Utah Retirement System benefits (the gold standard retirement plan, which includes the school paying for a minimum of 10% of your base salary toward retirement). We offer competitive base salaries, contribute monthly to a Health Savings Account, and pay for life insurance. We follow the Granite school district pay scale to determine which step to start our teachers at. We like to see teachers in the classroom so if you pass our phone screener expect to set up a time to visit the school and teach a short lesson. We also accept videos of you teaching in the classroom if you are unable to make it to our campus.
