Header Overview Join our dynamic educational team as an AP Biology Teacher, where your passion for science and dedication to student success will inspire the next generation of thinkers and innovators. In this role, you will deliver engaging, rigorous instruction aligned with Advanced Placement (AP) standards, fostering a deep understanding of biological concepts and scientific inquiry. You will have the opportunity to develop comprehensive curricula, utilize cutting-edge learning technology, and support students in excelling on their AP Biology exams. Your expertise will empower students to explore topics such as genetics, microbiology, biochemistry, ecology, and anatomy through interactive lessons and real-world applications. Responsibilities Design and implement engaging AP Biology curricula that meet college-level standards and prepare students for AP exams. Deliver dynamic lessons that incorporate innovative learning technology to enhance understanding of complex biological concepts. Develop assessments, quizzes, and projects that accurately measure student progress and mastery of course material. Provide individualized tutoring and support to students in science tutoring areas including genetics, microbiology, biochemistry, anatomy knowledge, and organic chemistry. Facilitate a positive classroom environment through effective classroom management strategies tailored for teenagers and diverse learners. Incorporate interdisciplinary topics such as chemistry, physics, math (including trigonometry, calculus, algebra, statistics), and computer science to enrich biology instruction. Collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning, curriculum development, and integrating special education or early childhood education strategies when applicable. Track student progress using data structures and assessment tools; adjust teaching methods accordingly to maximize learning outcomes. Support students in test preparation tutoring for AP exams and other standardized assessments related to biology and science subjects. Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance while fostering a supportive environment conducive to learning. Skills Proven experience teaching biology at the high school or higher education level with a focus on AP curriculum standards. Strong knowledge of biological sciences including genetics, microbiology, biochemistry, anatomy, physiology, ecology, and related fields like chemical engineering or molecular biology. Expertise in curriculum development with the ability to design comprehensive lesson plans that incorporate modern learning technology tools. Proficiency in teaching math concepts relevant to biology such as trigonometry, calculus (including differential equations), geometry, algebra, statistics, and discrete math. Skilled in classroom management techniques suited for teenagers; capable of working with diverse student populations including those requiring special education accommodations. Excellent communication skills for engaging students in online instruction or traditional classroom settings; experience with online instruction platforms is highly desirable. Strong computer skills with familiarity in data analysis tools or educational software used for tracking student progress. Ability to tutor students in science-specific areas such as organic chemistry or biochemistry while supporting their overall academic growth. Experience working with students from early childhood through higher education levels is a plus; familiarity with childcare or preschool experience is beneficial for supporting younger learners when needed.
