Secondary Science Teacher We are seeking a dynamic and innovative part time secondary science teacher to join our team and lead high school classes in life science, biology, physical science, and chemistry within an online program supported by a challenge-based learning environment. As an LLA science teacher, you will engage students in hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences that foster critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of scientific concepts.
Responsibilities:
Design and deliver engaging lessons and projects that integrate biology, physical science, and chemistry curricula. Facilitate student-centered learning experiences that promote inquiry, experimentation, and exploration of scientific principles. Develop and implement project-based assessments that assess students' understanding, application, and synthesis of scientific knowledge. Foster a collaborative and supportive classroom environment where students work together to solve real-world problems and challenges. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and interests of students, including those with varying levels of prior knowledge and abilities. Utilize technology and multimedia resources to enhance instruction and engage students in interactive learning experiences. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their work, progress, and growth in scientific inquiry and skills. Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum, share best practices, and support continuous improvement in teaching and learning. Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and assessments in accordance with school policies and procedures. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with advancements in science education, instructional strategies, and methodologies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in science education, biology, chemistry, or related field Valid teaching certification/license in secondary science education (preferred) Demonstrated experience in project-based learning or inquiry-based teaching methodologies (preferred) Strong knowledge and expertise in biology, physical science, and chemistry content areas. Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills. Passion for teaching science and fostering a love of learning in students. Ability to create engaging and relevant learning experiences that connect science concepts to real-world applications. $25.00 an hour plus depending on experience.
