Job Description

Manitowoc Public School District is seeking a dedicated educator to teach science at Lincoln High School for the 2026-27 school year. We're looking for a dynamic Physical & Earth Science teacher who can bring the natural world to life in the classroom for our 10th -12th grade students. Our ideal candidate is someone who can spark curiosity, cultivate critical thinking, and guide students as they explore the forces that shape our universe, from atomic structures to shifting tectonic plates. What You'll Do You'll design and deliver engaging, hands-on lessons that connect scientific concepts to real-world phenomena. Whether you're demonstrating the laws of motion, exploring climate systems, or leading interactive lab experiments, you'll create an environment where students feel excited to ask questions and confident to seek answers. You'll foster scientific literacy, encourage inquiry-based learning, and support students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles. Why Join Us? Key Responsibilities Develop and implement creative, standards-aligned curriculum in physical and earth sciences Facilitate labs, experiments, and project-based learning experiences Use data-driven strategies to assess student progress and tailor instruction Integrate technology and modern scientific tools into lessons Build a positive, inclusive classroom culture that promotes collaboration and curiosity Partner with colleagues, parents, and the school community to support student success What We're Looking For A strong foundation in physical science, earth science, or a related field A valid teaching certification (or eligibility to obtain one) A talent for making complex ideas accessible and engaging Enthusiasm for hands-on learning and innovative teaching methods Excellent communication and classroom management skills A growth mindset and commitment to continuous improvement Qualifications Bacherlor's degree, including all courses to meet credential requirements Valid Wisconsin license authorizing service in grade levels and areas assigned Student teaching, internship, or full-time teaching experience
