MARTIAL ARTS INSTRUCTOR
Encinitas Karate | Encinitas, CA Part-time | Paid position Encinitas Karate is seeking an experienced martial artist and instructor to join our team as one of our lead floor instructors. You must have both martial arts training and experience teaching martial arts, with the confidence to lead children and teens safely and effectively. We're looking for someone dependable, energetic, patient, and professional who can keep students engaged while maintaining clear expectations for respect, discipline, and effort. Responsibilities Lead organized, engaging martial arts classes for children and teens at different skill levels. Teach proper technique, correct form, and help students prepare for belt testing. Manage classroom behavior with patience, confidence, and consistency. Help students build confidence, self-control, perseverance, and leadership. Work closely with the head instructor and support fellow instructors. Communicate professionally with students and parents. Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized training floor. Assist with belt testing, studio events, and other scheduled activities. Required Qualifications Previous martial arts training and martial arts teaching experience . Experience teaching and managing groups of children and teens. Ability to lead classes independently and follow our studio's curriculum. Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills. Consistent punctuality and reliable attendance. Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification. Willingness to complete required background screening, training, and certifications by assigned deadlines. Must complete mandated reporter training and provide a certificate of completion by the assigned deadline. Encinitas Karate will cover the training cost and pay for time spent completing the training.
Required Schedule Monday-Thursday:
3:45 PM-8:15
PM Saturday:
8:45 AM-12:45PM Additional availability for later evenings, Fridays, and Saturday evenings as needed for testing and studio events. Applicants must be available for the regular schedule above and able to accommodate occasional additional hours.
